The movie I chose to review this week was the Lovely Bones. I feel like the movie was very well directed . Ialso feel like the actors that where chosen for the movie were very well chosen, they made the movie seem very real.
Stanley Tucci was perfectly chosen for his supporting role in the Lovely Bones. I felt like he truly lost himself in his role.Tucci played the role of the mysterious neighbor from down the street who no one would suspect to be a killer because of his kindness and he likes to stay to himself. However, that's his way of luring little girls to his death chambers. He would build this contraptions that he knew would excite them and then lure them in and kill them.
Saoirse Ronan in her leading role as Susie Salmon was breath taking. she put her all into this part. i felt her every emotion in the movie. She truly lost herself in this role she was Susie Salmon. She was also perfectly chosen for the charcter she played. to me she seemed like she would be the artistic photographer type like she played in the movie.
I feel like the setting of the movie was dead on the for the mood of the movie like the under ground space Tucci built to lure Ronan in. and also the way Tucci house was set up how it was dark . And how he had a passion for build doll house which was a replica of the young girls he would kill. i also felt like the costumes and make-up where also well done in the film.
The first thing that i noticed about the film was the setting i feel like that was the best component of the film. i also truly feel like this could be add to the American Film Institute list. the Lovely Bones was an excellent movie i would recommend it to everyone especially if you want to loose yourself in a movie.

lovely bones seems like a very good movie. I seen the trailer and I wanted to watch it but I haven't seen it yet.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Bianca on how you said that the movie was well directed. When I watched it,I thought it was intense.It made me so sad on how evil a person can be, in this case the neighbor who kill an innocent little girl. Excellent movie!
ReplyDeleteYes I agree with this review. Lovely Bones was a great book and now is a great movie. Stanley Tucci was perfect for this movie and he truly out did himself.
ReplyDeletei havent had the chance to see this yet but i reallly want to. it seems really good and its good to know now that the actors and such are good bc i hate seeing movies with bad acting. it was really interesting reading this and learning more about the movieive wanted to see so badly. now i for sure will !
ReplyDeleteReading this makes me want to go see this movie. The part of this review that makes me most interested in the movie is the description of the setting and how accurate and creepy it was. I think that's a big part of having a movie like this be good usually the murder movies have settings that are too creepy and leave the audience feeling that this is obviously a place where bad things happen. from the description this movie seems like it sets up the situations better so what is actually going on beneath the surface is less obvious.
ReplyDeleteim not too sure about this movie because i heard alot of negative feedback toward this movie. It seems very popular with the girls though maybe because it is a chick flick i dont know and alot of people in our class decided to blog about this movie which i thought was pretty funny. I think the story is too unrealistic the idea of the little girl in like another world and helping her father discover her mother seem idiotic to me. Also I heard Mark Walberg was horrible in this movie.
